What does acquiring BIN sponsor mean?
An acquiring BIN sponsor is a licensed acquirer that lets other organisations process card payments using its acquiring licence and Bank Identification Number (BIN). In short, we provide the regulatory and scheme access so you can act like an acquirer without needing your own direct membership with Visa or Mastercard.
What is the difference between issuing and acquiring BIN sponsorship?
An issuer BIN sponsor allows an organisation to issuer & manage payment cards – examples being a neobank launching a consumer debit card for their customers.
An acquiring BIN sponsor provides access to acquiring — so an organisation can accept and process card payments.
Both involve using an existing company’s licence and scheme membership, but they support opposite sides of a transaction.
How is this different from using a traditional acquirer?
Traditional acquirers handle everything under their own licence. With us, you keep ownership of your brand, merchants, and customer relationships — we simply provide the regulated foundation.
