Our research uncovers a lack of clarity in the payments industry, which is creating a knowledge gap.
As the demand for innovative payments technologies continues to rise, along with the need for teams to improve and manage these solutions, our research reveals a significant barrier to development: a lack of adequately skilled and satisfied payments decision makers.
We surveyed 250 individuals in charge of payments within businesses to find out about the motivations and pain point of the people behind payments. These individuals come from various job functions -Finance, Marketing, Operations, eCommerce and Payments, and Others – but all also had responsibility for their organisation’s payment acceptance. Our research highlighted a concerning lack of understanding about payments, primarily driven by the payments industry's absence of transparency and ease-of-use. This could cause significant difficulties for small and medium sized businesses going forward, especially as they look to become more efficient and innovative to ensure growth and stability through economic uncertainty.
