Cashflows has become the first European acquirer to directly integrate the enhanced Visa Account Updater (VAU) service, further strengthening the recurring card proposition for merchants and their customers.
If cards expire, are lost, stolen or upgraded, merchants receive updated billing details automatically without having to contact customers. This not only helps reduce back office admin and costs, it also improves customer retention and minimises attrition.
“CashFlows is a cloud-based payments provider, allowing customers to benefit from a host of advanced API-driven integrations, such as VAU. It speaks to our agility and can-do culture that we have directly integrated this service at speed and are first to do so in Europe,” said Jonathan Bennett, Chief Commercial Officer, CashFlows.
A hassle-free way to pay
Regular or recurring payments on debit or credit cards are easy to set up through various channels. Customers then have peace-of-mind that the merchant will get paid as agreed and on time, without them having to remember payment schedules or action payments.
Merchants receive responses to all enquiries to VAU, not just when card details have changed. This gives them confidence that they have the most up-to-date information to complete a payment. And saves authorisation fees in attempting to collect funds from invalid or expired cards.
Similarly, if accounts have been closed or customers have issued stop instructions, merchants are advised. They can proactively contact customers before the billing date to manage the relationship and boost successful collections.
VAU available now
CashFlows supports a range of sectors and partners from financial services through to local authority, education and general retail. As direct members of all major card schemes, CashFlows can set up and process regular card payments, meaning merchants can take payment without taking card details each time.
CashFlows is also able to support recurring billing through a number of third-party gateways that offer this functionality. Access to the enhanced Visa Account Updater (VAU) is available through the CashFlows API now.
